The Jesus Road- 2056 Expedition
I'm finishing up a sequel to my famous The Jesus Road- 2056 Expedition, which is due out by mid-August of this year. Like the first, it is a sci-fi novel set in the near future, when disease and a series of senseless wars have decimated the planet. Michigan and Ohio are radioactive zones and all parts west of there are a vicious wasteland. Florida and parts adjacent to it are under water.
An android, a woman who lost her husband in the last nuclear explosion and a strange boy go through a portal known as the Jesus Road to the city of Jerusalem to find a supercomputer which will be the Biblical Beast. But they don't count on the androids creator having laden the way with robotic traps along the way.

The Conspiracy Chick
I'm working on a new book, called The Conspiracy Chick. Do you like the cover?
It's a sequel to my book Warehouse of the Dead. It's set about seven years in the future from the time that the protagonist blew up the Detroit Salt Mines, and Dr. Estes escaped with John Hemlock's head. Scott (the protagonist) has been kicking himself for having let him get away. But his son gets tagged by a woman called the Conspiracy Chick because of a conspiracy blog she runs, and she says she has seen Dr. Estes, alive.

Zombies

I've written another new book, which I've entitled Zombies, which was a fun book to write! It's about a zombie plague that begins in a secret lab beneath the city of Detroit. The entire city is decimated, in fact the entire country. My main character hears about it and five of his friends are trapped in a building in Detroit, and can't get out. So he sets out to free them, and, well, you can just guess what he faces!

The Dragons of Creative Writing
I've compiled my blog posts into one book now, The Dragons of Creative Writing! I'm excited by this new book, as it details my thoughts on how to change the writer, and thus change his writing. It does not go through all the boring details that you've heard hundreds of times before about how to improve your writing, but rather, how to improve yourself, which will, in the end, make you a much better writer.
So join me, if you will, on a journey that explores the alchemy of a writer. You'll be glad you did.

Tainted Blood Review
In between episodes of "The Alien Diaries," I thought I'd take a minute and share this excerpt of a review of my book "Tainted Blood" from the popular dark fiction review site She Never Slept. The reviewer was their Columnist & Associate Editor Marc Nacerino.
*****
"When I was asked to review Tainted Blood, by Ferrel D. Moore, all I knew was that there was a werewolf on the cover. I hope there aren’t sparkly vampires too, was my first thought.
I am happy to report that not only were there no sparkly vampires, but the werewolf action was intensely violent and satisfying. Here was a very interesting twist on the werewolf legend, but one that kept all the ferocity and carnivorous lethality that I have been craving in a shapeshifter story. No hokey “ancient bloodline” melodrama, no romanticized “Gaia’s warrior” baloney, and definitely no “team Jacob” treacle.
Not being one for spoilers, I will keep this brief.
The story follows Sveta, a Russian mercenary, on a blood-soaked romp through, and under, the streets of Chicago that involves Russian Special Forces, the Red Mafia, old-school Cold War spy games, and a very unlikely werewolf.
The action begins immediately, thrusting the reader into a black-op assassination attempt. We meet some of the major players here: Hauck, the spymaster who calls the shots remotely; Evgeny, the sniper who never misses; Yuri the tech wizard, and Sveta, the “new girl” on the team. The hit goes horribly wrong when the team is confronted by the patently impossible — their target, Drogol, either is protected by, or is himself, a werewolf.
This book was fantastic. Ferrel D. Moore paints a portrait of Chicago awash in blood with his vivid descriptions, terse dialog, believable settings (for the most part), and layered characterizations. All of this is woven into a rich tapestry of Russian history and alt-history, dating back to the time of the Tsars and the infamous Rasputin."

And we're looking for new novels to publish, so check out the guidelines and if your work meets the criteria, send it along. We're just getting ready to announce this over at Ralan and Duotrope, but I wanted to let you know first.

Steampunk & "The Ghost Box"
My new book "The Ghost Box" is ready for print layout and cover design, for a release date early next spring. I don't know how many books a year the rest of you write, but two or three is quite enough for me, I think! James Patterson produces an average of 230 books per year, but I believe in all honesty that he is not a human being, but an organized work farm of alien laborers from the planet Profit.
I'd love to hear from the rest of you what your average yearly word count is.
The covers a mixture of three genres- Steampunk, Paranormal and Science Fiction. Maybe we should call it "Dark Urban Fantasy" and leave it at that.
"The White Death" is well underway, and is a mixture of Steampunk, Lovecraft, and Science Fiction. A seatbelt is required when reading the book.
Next year, though, I'm sticking with one genre category per book. How about you?

Electrocuting the Clowns- The Boyer Free Edition
Yes, it's the David Boyer-Free Edition. All proceeds from sales of this eBook Boyer-Free edition will go toward fighting plagiarizing publishers.
"Electrocuting the Clowns" was the story Boyer plagiarized from me and then had nominated for a Stoker Award- even though he'd stolen the story! But we're making progress in the fight.
Not only has the Horror Writers Association written to Deputy Attorney General Tom Irons to prosecute Boyer under Consumer Fraud Laws and the National Writers Union spearheaded this weekend a new letter writing campaign to the Indiana Attorney General's Office, Consumer Fraud Division, but Brian Keene has brought this matter to the attention of thousands of writers who have then been contacting the Indiana AG.
So in the meantime I've begun publishing "Boyer-Free" editions of my short stories on Kindle to help collect money to continue the fight against plagiarizing publishers. Every dime goes to pay the lawyers and researchers who are helping us fight these creeps.
Consider buying these stories a donation to fight literary cancer.
