A Helping Hand
For anyone that doesn't know that Travis' house burned to the ground, I'm including the link for all writers and readers to offer support. Although I've never met him in person, his writings have been a staple of my blog readings since I first found his site. Click here to lend a hand to Travis and his family. No comments necessary, just send cash if you are willing and able to help this fine family out.

Do you know what happened? I went to his blog looking for information as I wanted to post a link to the donation on my blog. since I don't know him, or follow his blog, I felt I should give some bit of background.
Hi Lisa! He and his family came home one night and the house was burned to the ground. He was so despondent at the time that he didn't put down many of the details. I'm so glad you'll be posting a link. Erica Orloff and Spy jumpstarted the whole website to help him. I think there were others involved, too. What a wonderful group of writer/ bloggers we know!
It's nice to see some bloggers actually getting out their checkbooks, y'know? Sometimes a blog post just isn't enough. I'm glad you're spreading the word, too.
He's got a lot of bricks to buy for a new house, Lana, so if we just get enough of us...
My biggest fear Rick, to come home and ....... nothing left. How very sad this is.
Hi Rick! I was able to go and visit Travis last week and he and his family are doing as well as can be expected.
They are surprised by the number of friends they have, and how much love and support has been given to them!
Thanks for spreading the word!
Hello Crystal- I'm so glad to hear that they are okay. I've been traveling a lot this last week and a half to catch up after the holidays, and I'm glad to hear from someone like yourself who knows them. Thanks for being so kind as to let me know. I'll drop by your blog to say hi, too, if you don't mind.
Monique, it's hard for me to comprehend what that would be like. Bad enough for we adults, but the effect that it must have on the children is hard to fathom.
Hi Rick, just wanted to come around to say "hello". You did a very good thing in helping out Travis and his family by posting "A Helping Hand." I hope they are doing well. Blessings, dear one. <3
Blessings upon you, too, K. Lawsen. These catastrophes can happen to any of us, and I'm so glad bloggers and friends of Travis are pitching in to help. I've been traveling again quite a bit, but will be posting before this weekend, and I'll also be by to visit you.
Ahhhh...shame....I think I read his blog ones or twice, Ill try and add the link too:)
I honored your blog today with a Prémio Dardos award at my blog: http://shaunaroberts.blogspot.com/2009/01/prmio-dardos.html. Thanks for being a bright light in the blogging world.
I know what you mean, Etain. I'm glad there is a developing sense of blogging community. I'm so happy to have met all of you.
Shauna, you are seriously making me blush! Thank you very much.
What a nice gesture, Rick.
I've been there, and that is the reason behind me building a new house online, a tiny spot to help finding my identity again. Because loosing every thing, every photo and memory, is as losing Yourself and Your history.
I lost my home in 2002, in the midst of my doctoral thesis. Now first (2009), am I nearly back on the track :-D
I will follow Your link, to Your friend!!!
How are You Yourself, by the way?
I guess I was much
much to late to help :-(
the link only led to a non interactive blog.
